Feature Friday! Ebony
I am so honored to have the gorgeous Ebony featured on feature friday today!!! She is another woman I met on Instagram lol. (You gotta love it! Always connecting people!) She is superrrr sweet, beautiful, and extremely humble! And of course--her hair is just ahhhmazing! You'll love reading about all her secrets ;). I already tried one of them (the Trader Joes Nourish Spa Conditioner) and I fell in LOVE! So read on and find out even more! 1. Name and where you are from:I'm Ebony, and I currently reside in Georgia!2. Tell us about yourself!I'm 34, super imaginative, mostly right-brained with left-brained characteristics (lol), and a perfectionist to a fault. The people closest to me will tell you that I'm creative, encouraging, brilliant, and silly! For the most part, they're right! :-)3. How long have you been natural?I haven't had a relaxer since Feb 2005!4. How would you describe your hair? What does it mean to you?My hair is very compliant. Its porosity is normal, some of my hairs are fine---some are medium, and density is thick. My hair is my crown and glory---no matter how short or long. The health of it is most important!5. What is your natural hair regimen (including the products you use)?Generally, I shampoo every two-three weeks (give or take), and co-wash once a week (give or take). I pre-treat with coconut oil and one of the Suave Conditioners. Generally, I look for the Black Raspberry & White Tea but I can hardly ever find it, so I usually go home with Almond & Shea Butter. Currently, the shampoos I'm using are Godiva Shampoo Bar OR Fair Trade Honey, both by LUSH Cosmetics. Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Conditioner and Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioners are currently my favorites.6. How do you retain your length and keep your hair healthy?I'd have to say, I'm able to retain length by keeping my hair conditioned, moisturized/sealed, and through low manipulation.7. Who is your hair crush? It's a toss up between Rachel True and Tracee Ellis Ross.8. What are your favorite natural hair styles? My fave styles are Two strand twists and Marley Twists.9. What is the greatest lesson you’ve learned during your natural hair journey?I've learned a couple! One, always pre-treat with coconut oil prior to shampooing. Two, I've learned not to shampoo too often (learned that in the first year). Three, hair typing doesn't work for me.10. Is there a website/blog/Twitter/Instagram where we can find you? I'm @eclark6 on YouTube & Instagram, @manelycurls on Twitter, and my fan page on Facebook is EClark.11. Is there any other advice you’d like to leave us with? Take care of your body starting from the inside, and it will reflect on the outside (hair included)...oh, and stay encouraged!!!Until next time,
