My Curl, My Cantu

The thing I love about natural hair is that everyone’s is so unique and different. From the texture, to the density, to the curl type, there is something special about each person’s hair! With that being said, some textures need a little more of one product, and less of another, so you have to find a formula that works best for you. I have found a great combination of Cantu Beauty products that gives me the perfect twist-out! It comes out smooth, shiny, and defined, and can work for any hair type or texture! I also love that their products are free of mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, and gluten! Check out the products and steps I took below!
Step 1: Cleanse with the Complete Conditioning Co-Wash
Before styling, I cleansed with the Cantu Complete Conditioning Co-Wash in the shower. I gently massaged my scalp and hair to remove product build up with its unique blend of natural oils. The Co-Wash is free of sulfates and contains pure Shea Butter, so it leaves my hair feeling soft and moisturized.
Step 2: Detangle with the Coil Calm Detangler
After cleansing, I detangled with the Coil Calm Detangler by sectioning my hair and spraying the product. I then gently combed through each section from the ends to the root to avoid breakage. It really softened and conditioned my hair for easy styling.
Step 3: Apply the Leave-In Conditioning Cream
I love a good leave-in, and Cantu’s Leave-In Conditioning Cream is awesome! It stops and prevents hair breakage, leaves my hair soft and manageable, and reduces frizz and flyways. It’s great to use before any style, whether it’s a twist-out, braid-out, wash and go, etc. A little goes a long way, so I just used a tiny bit per section!
Step 4: Apply the Coconut Curling Cream
To make sure my twist came out super defined, I applied a little bit of the Coconut Curling Cream, starting from the root and continuing down to the ends. I then combed it through with a brush to make sure the product was evenly distributed.
Step 5: Twist & Lock Gel
Lastly, I separated my hair into small sections and applied the Twist & Lock Gel. This product has a really nice texture and consistency that is perfect for twisting! It left each section really shiny and soft.
After twisting, I was left with about 8 twists and I slept with them overnight to make sure they were completely dry.
After they dried, I took out the twists and fluffed them with a hair pick for added volume. I love how great they came out; below are the results!
