Feature Friday: Rasheeda

Today's feature is one of my curlfriends, Rasheeda! We've become pretty cool over IG and I've even gotten a chance to meet her sister in person! She has stunning thick hair and great tips on how she cares for it! Check it out :).
1. Name and where you are from:
My name is Rasheeda Russell and I'm from Brooklyn, NY.
2. Tell us about yourself!
I'm 27 yrs old, I'm a Christian. I love everything Nutrition and holistic health. I have a bachelors degree in Forensic Psychology.
3. How long have you been natural and what made you decide to do so?
I've been natural since I was about 16yrs old. I permed my hair when I was in the 7th grade, I would get them twice a year, and when I got to high school I decided that I didn't want to get perms anymore.
4. How would you describe your hair? What does it mean to you?
My hair is very very thick! It has a mind of its own. My hair is apart of who I am, I love it! It is my heritage.
5. What is your natural hair regimen?
I finger detangle my hair dry, using coconut oil, a little water and Shea Moistures detangling conditioner. I usually co-wash my hair once a week, using Aubrey Organics "White Camilla" conditioner or Shea Moistures co-wash conditioner. I deep condition once a week, using Camille Rose "Algae Renew" or My Honey Child "Olive You". My leave-in conditioners are "Beautiful Curls" by Alaffia, Giovanni "Direct leave-in" or Kinky Curly "Knot Today, I seal with coconut oil and aloe vera. I usually clarify once a month using either Raw Apple Cider vinegar rinse, or Aubrey Organics "White Camilla" shampoo.
6. How do you retain your length and keep your hair healthy?
I learned to be patient with my hair, and what her different needs are. Also what plays a big role, is my healthy lifestyle. I believe being healthy starts from the inside out. Aside from taking care of my hair on the surface, eating healthy promotes it's healthy growth.
7. What is your go-to style?
I usually do wash and go's because I'm lazy lol, but I love twist outs. I finger detangle my hair dry and then twist it, I take it out the next day and rock it.
8. Who is your hair crush?
This question is so hard, because there are so many beautiful curly/natural hair women. I love Tracee Ellis Ross, I know she's everyone's favorite lol.
9. What is the greatest lesson you've learned during your natural hair journey?
The greatest lesson I've learned would be patience and to love the hair God has given you. When you love it, you'll truly want to take care of it.
10. What is your favorite life lesson?

My favorite life lesson would be that I cannot do anything in this life without God! Understanding that I am here on earth on a temporary assignment to fulfill Gods purpose. I am still growing and learning how to be stronger through God everyday. My greatest joy was falling in love with Jesus.

11. Is there a website/blog/Twitter/Instagram where we can find you?
You can find me on Instagram, Twitter, and tumblr, my name on all of them are LoveRasheeda. Hopefully, YouTube soon.
