Travel Guide To San Francisco
I recently traveled to San Francisco, California along with Rene Daniella of www.ownbyfemme.com during our Femme in Bloom: Travel, Love, Grow Tour and had the best time! It was my first time visiting and I fell in love with the city. It has great scenery, people, food, and weather!
While we were there we teamed up with www.sftravel.com to explore the city. We went on tours, ate great food, and experienced the culture! It was such a great trip!
Hotel:
Rene and I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel in Fisherman's Wharf! It was a super cute hotel with great decor and in a great location. It was also right by the water and walking distance to many attractions, the pier, aquarium and food!
Food and Restaurants:
We had delicious appetizers at Foreign Cinema and fell in love with both their flavorful food an ambiance. We ate shrimp and a delicious dip with tomato, potato, goat cheese and lavender. It was literally one of the best dips I've ever tasted! It was sooo flavorful, I didn't want to finish it because I wanted to keep savoring it lol. It was amazing! I can see why the restaurant has been voted a San Francisco Chronicle "Top 100 Restaurant" for 16 years!
After eating at Foreign Cinema we went to El Techo right next store. It is the cutest rooftop restaurant with delicious Latin American street-style food and the best view of the city! They have great chips and guacamole, platanos, sangria, music, and great vibes! It's a must visit if you're ever in San Francisco!
Last but not least is Tres, a Mexican Restaurant! Rene and I held our Travel, Love, Grow brunch here and absolutely loved it! They had amazing service, ambiance with great lighting, and delicious food. We ate Chips and Salsa, Guacamole, Chilaquiles Rojas, Hongos Benedictos, and Torrejas Mexicanas. It all was so delicious and flavorful!
Activities:
Big City Bus Tour
We had a great time being true tourists and exploring the city of San Francisco! The Big City Bus tour was the perfect way to see everything in a short period of time and while on a budget. I live in New Jersey close to NYC so I have to admit that I was a little weary of it at first because I always see tourist on similar buses while in the city! But now I totally understand why. It was such a great and informative way to see San Francisco and learn about the city. While on it I saw the Golden Gate Bridge, Union Square, Lombard Street, the City Hall, and more while hearing all of the interesting history about the city. The best part of it is that you can get on and off it whenever you like, so you can explore each attraction at your own pace.
Lombard Street
Lombard street is famous for it's steep roads and is known as "the most crooked street in the world!" The road was made with 8 sharp turns to prevent accidents because the hill was too steep. Now it is safer for both cars and pedestrians, and the speed limit is only 5 MPH, lol! I do have to warn you though that me and Rene had to walk up a super steep hill to get to the top, but it was so worth it! The view was breath taking and the road itself was a really cool site to see.
Picnic in Delores Park
This park also has a great view of the city and is a great place to eat, relax, and hang with friends. People even played instruments and danced to salsa music! It's super cute!
Ride the Historical Cable Cars
They're a super cute, fun and unique form of transportation and another great way to tour the city!
